BYD's ETT 44 electric truck delivers 600 km range and 1.5 MW charging capability

BYD unveiled its ETT 44 electric truck at IAA Transportation 2026 in Hannover on September 14, 2026. The vehicle achieves up to 600 km range using a 651 kWh Blade Battery on 851V architecture, with 743 PS rated power and peak power up to 1,000 PS. Crucially, it supports 1.5 MW charging, enabling 20-80% battery recharge in approximately 20 minutes—a capability that directly addresses downtime for long-haul freight. The truck includes a 10-year or 1.2 million km battery warranty and operates within BYD’s global commercial vehicle network spanning over 100 countries and 400-plus cities.

This rapid charging capability represents a tangible shift for freight efficiency. By cutting the time needed to recharge for extended journeys, the ETT 44 could lower operational costs for long-haul transport where downtime traditionally dominates expenses. The 1.5 MW system’s speed aligns with BYD’s existing commercial vehicle portfolio, which already serves diverse global markets.

For freight cost reduction, this matters most in regions where energy access and charging infrastructure are constrained.
