Fiber Sensor Offers Real-Time Hydrogen Sulfide Monitoring for Industrial Safety
Researchers at Korea Institute of Materials Science, Pusan National University, and Korea Aerospace University developed a fiber-based electronic device that generates electricity and detects hydrogen sulfide gas. The device uses modified UiO-66 metal-organic frameworks with fluoro and amino groups. It achieves 7.16% power conversion efficiency—representing approximately 29% improvement over conventional titanium dioxide photoelectrodes—and detects hydrogen sulfide within about 9 seconds. The device maintains 80% of its initial performance after 1,500 bending cycles and 20 washing cycles.
