Leaked images show Lenovo’s first Googlebooks

Leaked press images published by Digital Citizen and Android Headlines show a Lenovo laptop in two sizes and a 2-in-1 tablet carrying Googlebook branding, The Verge reported on 3 August 2026. The keyboards include a new key with Google's "G" logo on the bottom row, which Digital Citizen describes as a dedicated hardware key for Gemini — though the keyboards also retain the Quick Insert button that Chromebooks introduced for the same purpose in 2024.

Googlebook is the Android-based successor to Chromebook that Google announced in May 2026, replacing ChromeOS. Acer, Asus, Dell, HP and Lenovo are lined up to ship the first models in autumn 2026.

Cheap laptops are how computing reaches people who cannot buy a premium machine, and Chromebooks did more for that than any other product category. Whether the successor continues it depends on price and on how much of the machine's usefulness requires a network connection — neither of which a leaked photograph reveals. Details on the platform remain sparse and nothing here is confirmed by Google or Lenovo.
