Moxi 2.0 expands in U.S. hospitals, cutting staff time for healthcare tasks

Diligent Robotics began deploying Moxi 2.0 robots to U.S. health systems on August 17, 2026, following its October 2025 unveiling. The robots have been installed across 25+ U.S. hospitals, with Children’s Hospital Los Angeles reporting 40,000 deliveries by Moxi 2.0—equivalent to over 16,000 hours of staff time saved. Moxi 2.0’s 10x compute power and 10–15x faster perception than earlier models enable extended daily operation (up to 18 hours), while its modular design allows potential transitions between hardware platforms. At Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, Moxi utilization grew 10% in Q2 2026 after expanding from two to three robots.

The robots address healthcare staffing shortages by handling routine tasks—such as patient transport and lab coordination—without requiring direct human intervention. This operational efficiency directly reduces the burden on overwhelmed staff, freeing time for higher-value care activities. For hospitals facing acute labor shortages, Moxi 2.0’s scalability and proven impact on staff retention represent a tangible step toward maintaining care capacity without increasing headcount.
