Sunwoda Electric Vehicle Battery Co Ltd announced its 15C smart flash charging battery system at a conference in Zaozhuang, Shandong province on September 16-17, 2026. The system claims to achieve 10% to 97% charge in 9 minutes at room temperature, with 10% to 70% completed in 5 minutes. It also states a 1-minute charge adds 100 kilometers of driving range and supports over 700 kilometers of range per vehicle. The technology integrates smart battery cells 3.0, an energy domain controller, and an AI cloud-control platform, with claims of 99.77% accuracy for fault warnings across 20+ types. Sunwoda asserts a 10-year or 300,000-kilometer warranty for commercial vehicles.
The system's performance depends on specific conditions: charging times and range figures apply to room temperature and compatible vehicles. Sunwoda has not disclosed mass production timelines, first vehicle models, or station locations. While BYD completed its 10,000th flash charging station in China on August 28, 2026, Sunwoda's target of 10,000 megawatt charging stations by end of 2027 remains unverified.
