Underwater Adhesive Holds Promise for Low-Cost Marine Repairs
Engineers developed BP16TPB, an underwater adhesive that bonds to submerged surfaces within 10 seconds and achieves an initial strength of 1.1 million pascals. It maintains adhesion under a 2-kilogram static load for over three years of continuous underwater immersion and can be reused up to eight times.
